Title: Extension Educator - GMI/Clean Marina-Sea Grant

Position Summary: Helps foster economic growth and protect Michigan's coastal, Great Lakes resources through education, research and outreach; involved in planning, organizing and implementing university-based educational programs that apply knowledge and understanding gained through research; support Great Lakes constituencies and communities in the Macomb county area with information and tools that aid in making informed decisions about Michigan's coastal/Great lakes resources.

Is part of a collaborative team within Michigan Sea Grant and Michigan State University (MSU) Extension, specializing in particular areas of concern and sharing knowledge and skills with colleagues in other parts of the state and Great Lakes region; works collaboratively with the team of Sea Grant outreach professionals to provide overall leadership for the Michigan Clean Marina Program; collaborates with other partners to support activities related to the sustainability of Lake Saint Clair; contributes to Clean Marina initiatives throughout the Great Lakes; engages in other applied research and Sea Grant Extension activities that contribute to the sustainability of Great Lakes water quality.

Title: Extension Program Instructor

Position Summary: Primary responsibilities include leadership for and oversight of the Great Lakes Education Program on Lake St. Clair; oversees the day to day activities and functions of the Water Conservation Program in Macomb County; recruits, selects and trains program volunteers with support from District Coordinator and appropriate Extension educators; collaborates with the supervising Sea Grant Extension Educator to plan, organize and implement the Summer Discovery Cruise program on Lake St. Clair as well as programs relating to the Macomb County New Blue Economy initiative; understands and implements diversity and affirmative action principles in concert with all aspects of position; and serves on and attends various local program committee and council meetings, as well as community planning activities, as appropriate.
