Tri-Centennial State Park - East Riverfront Greenway

Plans for the Saint Aubin Marina project call for significant improvements to the existing 67-slip watercraft harbor utilizing the former Detroit (shipbuilding) dry-dock. The improvements would provide mooring accommodations for cruise ships, tour boats, and tall ships. This multi-use watercraft access site would serve Detroit's boating public and provide waterside accommodations near civic-center entertainment venues.

In addition to the marina project, discussions are ongoing to develop an east-riverfront greenway between General Motors Global Headquarters and Stroh River Place, connecting to St. Aubin and Chene linked riverfront parks. Such a greenway would complement major investments being made by the private sector. A waterfront park along the Detroit east riverfront offers the potential of greatly enhanced community access showcasing the Detroit River to residents and visitors alike.

Completion of the east-riverfront greenway requires a continued, concerted effort to overcome challenges inherent in land acquisition, environmental cleanup, relocation of viable industries, and substantial funding for new facilities.
