Elizabeth LaPorte

Focus
As director of the Communications Program and Co-leader of the Education Program, LaPorte manages a blended team of communications and education staff. The communications and education services team increases aquatic science literacy through the development of print and web products, many of which have received national awards. LaPorte also acts as a liaison locally, regionally and nationally and identifies new opportunities for partnerships with Michigan universities, state agencies and non-government organizations.

Experience, Expertise & Interests
Extensive experience in scientific communications, including instructional design, publication and website development, strategic planning and marketing. Expertise includes management of multi-disciplinary teams in an educational environment, developing engaging communication and education materials. Interests include photography, kayaking and hiking.
